Following the appointment of John Reid as UK Secretary of State for Defence, the UK Prime Minister announced the names of the other new Defence Ministers on 10 May 2005.
Rt Hon Adam Ingram MP remains in post as Minister for the Armed Forces, a position to which he was first appointed on 12 June 2001. Don Touhig, MP for Islwyn, has moved from the Wales Office to become the new Under Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans.
Lord Drayson has been appointed as the Under Secretary of State and Minister for Defence Procurement as well as Government Spokesman for Defence in the House of Lords.
