Aerial refueling and future cargo concepts for UAVs

The US Air Force Research Laboratory has confirmed that it has been examining automatic aerial refueling (AAR) concepts for UAV systems.

“AAR means smaller, lower-cost UAVs which do not have to carry as much fuel,” explained Colonel Mike Leahy at the recent Bristol UAV conference in the UK. “We are also looking at concepts for future unmanned cargo planes.”
