Australia puts UAVs on agenda

The recently released report of the Australian Government Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources (DITR) includes an Aerospace Industry Action agenda. Recommendation nine of the report directly refers to the importance of UAVs.

"9. Industry to consider the development of an aerospace demonstrator program (similar to the 'aXcess Australia concept car'), based on a small-medium unmanned aerial vehicle to promote the innovative research and development, engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the Australian aerospace industry, applying as appropriate for assistance from competitive Government programmes."
